Key features:

money reaches the beneficiary in a few seconds;
instant payments are made 24 hours round without days off and public holidays;
the amount transferred may not exceed EUR 100,000;
the beneficiary's bank must be connected to the instant payment system;
payments are made via the bank's on-line banking. When making a payment, in the menu select "Payments" -> "Outgoing payment” and choose "Instant“ in the "Payment priority" field.

The time within which the SEPA transfers in euros are completed:

Transfer to your or other client’s account in Artea Bank will be carried out on the same day (using internet bank it is carried out as specified in Time of Operation Execution on Internet Bank);
Transfer to other banks registered in Lithuania will be carried out on the same business day, upon giving payment order before 04:00 pm;
Transfer to other banks registered in the EU and EEA member states will be carried out on the same business day, upon giving payment order before 04:00 pm.

PLEASE NOTE! Wishing to execute an very urgent transfer in euro to the banks registered in the EU or EEA member states or transfers to the banks registered in other foreign states, you have to fill a payment order in foreign currency form.

The time within which other transfers in euro are completed:

Very urgent transfer in euro to the EU and EEA member states will be carried out on the same business day upon giving the payment order before 04:00 pm;
transfer to the banks registered abroad (except the EU and EEA member states) shall be executed:
- Ordinary transfer will be carried out within 2 business days upon giving the payment order before 10:00 pm;
- Urgent transfer will be carried out next business day upon giving the payment order before 05:00 pm;
- Very urgent transfer will be carried out on the same day upon giving the payment order before 03:00 pm;

If the payment order is submitted after the specified time, the transfer is made on the next business day.

Wishing to transfer funds in euro:

to other banks registered in Lithuania, EU and EEA member states, you have to fill the payment order form;
to the banks registered in the foreign countries except EU and EEA member states a payment order in foreign currency form.

NOTE: Performing a payment please verify accurately if the account number is indicated correctly. The payment transaction shall be executed according to the beneficiary's account number indicated by You.

If the account number is indicated incorrectly, the funds can be credited to another client's account even if the beneficiary’s name is indicated correctly.

How it
works

When you make a transfer within Artea Bankas or in euro to payment service providers registered in Lithuania or other SEPA countries, we verify whether the name of the payee (person, company, or institution) you enter in the payment order exactly matches the name of the account holder. We inform you of the result immediately.
This information is provided after you have initiated the transfer and entered the account number and payee name, but before the payment is confirmed.
If the name matches, the transaction proceeds as normal. If the name does not match or only partially matches, you may still proceed, but you will be asked to confirm your choice and informed that, if the details are incorrect, the funds may be sent to the wrong payee.
The service is automatic and free of charge.

Possible
results

If the name of the payee (person, company, or institution) you specify matches the name of the account holder, the transfer continues normally and you will not notice any change in the process.

If the payee’s name differs slightly from the actual account holder’s name (for example, a missing letter), we will alert you. The system will suggest the correct account holder name in the payee field. If you select it, the payment will continue as normal.

You can choose to proceed without correcting the name, but we will ask you to confirm your choice and warn you that an incorrect name may result in the funds being transferred to the wrong payee.

If the payee’s name does not match the actual account holder’s name at all, we will notify you and ask you to check and correct the name or account number.

If, due to a technical issue, temporary service unavailability, or circumstances beyond the bank’s control, we are unable to verify the payee’s name, we will inform you and ask you to double-check both the account number and the name of the payee. We recommend attempting the transfer again later.

You can choose to proceed, but we will ask you to confirm your choice and warn you that an incorrect name may result in the funds being transferred to the wrong payee.

How to write the payee’s name correctly

Ensure the information is up to date

Discrepancies may occur if the payee has changed their name.

For example:

✖ Incorrect: Ponia Vardenaitė (old surname)

✔ Correct: Ponia Pavardė (changed surname)

Do not omit letters

One or several missing or non-Lithuanian letters may cause partial mismatches. If the deviation is small, the system will suggest the correct name.

For example:

✖ Incorrect: Ponia Pavardėnitė

✔ Correct: Ponia Pavardėnaitė

Use Lithuanian characters

For example:

✖ Incorrect: Ponia Pavardenaite

✔ Correct: Ponia Pavardėnaitė

✔ Upper- or lower-case letters do not affect verification, but you may be asked to write the full name in capitals.

Write the first name followed by the surname

For example:

✖ Incorrect: Pavardėnaitė Ponia

✔ Correct: Ponia Pavardėnaitė

Write the company or institution name exactly as it appears in the company details or invoice provided to you, including all characters, quotation marks, and abbreviations.

Ensure the information is up to date

A mismatch may occur if the company has changed its legal name or merged with another entity.

✔ Not all companies use the same brand and legal name. Always use the legal name, not the brand name. Some companies that have changed their brand name keep their old legal name.

For example:

✖ Incorrect: AB Šiaulių bankas

✔ Correct: AB Artea bankas

Use the full official name

Write the name exactly as shown in the invoice, contract, or company details. Remember to include the legal form of the company.

Companies present their legal form differently. Some officially use “uždaroji akcinė bendrovė”, others only use the abbreviation UAB. Write the name as provided by the company itself.

For example:

✔ Pay particular attention to the names of public sector companies and bodies, which you may be more familiar with in their abbreviated forms.

✔ Some official full names of public sector organisations may not fit in the payee field due to character limits. In such cases, the system will suggest the closest match.

Pay close attention to spelling

Do not mix up or omit letters. Use Lithuanian characters and quotation marks, if they appear in the company name. Please note that some companies have quotation marks in their legal names and others do not.

What name is registered with the bank for your company or institution?

! If your company or institution is the payee, ensure that the legal name you provide to your clients on invoices or in company details matches exactly the name registered with the bank.

! Review the payee information stored in your accounting systems: the names must match the official legal names of the account holders.

Useful information

We verify that the payee details you provide – name, surname or legal entity name – match the name of the holder of the account indicated in the payment order.

We verify the name of the payee in all transfers within Artea Bankas, instant transfers and transfers in euro (SEPA).
We check transfers made through Artea Internet Bank, the mobile app and the bank’s customer service branches. You will see the verification result on screen or our staff will inform you if you are making a transfer in a branch.
For recurring payments, the payee is checked when the payment is first set up. This means the payee is checked once when the recurring payment is set up, and no further checks are carried out after the payment has been established.
Recurring payments created before 9 October 2025 that are running smoothly are not checked. If you wish to verify the payee, you may suspend the recurring payment and set it up again.
If a payment is made using a previously prepared and saved payment template, the payee will be verified. If you receive a partial-match or no-match alert, we recommend updating your saved payment templates.
Verification does not apply to card payments in shops and online. The payee’s information is provided to you by the payment service provider.
Verification also does not apply to online payments made via intermediaries – payment initiation service providers, who provide you with the payee’s information for confirmation.
Verification does not apply for e-invoice payments.

The result is provided immediately – within 5 seconds at most.

Verification of the payee’s name serves as a warning only. You may still proceed with the payment.

However, our aim is to help you protect yourself against fraud and errors. We recommend that you do not approve the payment if the payee’s name does not match, only partially matches, or cannot be verified. Please ensure you review the information carefully.

Anti-fraud measure

The verification of payee service is an anti-fraud safeguard. It helps prevent situations where fraudsters provide their own account number alongside a familiar name, or where an incorrect account number leads to funds being transferred to the wrong recipient. Taxes, charges and other payments due to the State Tax Inspectorate (STI) can be paid to the budget revenue collection account with Artea Bank. The following items should be specified in the payment order:

name of the beneficiary - State Tax Inspectorate under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania;
accumulative account number - LT327180000000141038;
beneficiary's code - 188659752;
payer's identification number:
- Legal entity in Lithuania - Legal Entity Register Code;
- Resident of Lithuania - personal code;
- Non-resident of Lithuania and foreign legal entity or organization - payer's identification number provided by the Registry administrator

In case you are paying a penalty for a recorded legal violation in accordance with the the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Lithuania, an offence identification code (ROIK) has to be provided for in the unique payment code field;
if taxes, payments, charged are paid using internet bank and it they are settled for the other natural and legal entity, it is necessary to fill the explicit SEPA payment order form specifying an identification number, name or name and surname of the initial payer's, on whose behalf the payment order shall be performed.

Note. If a payment order is not filled in full or is filled incorrectly, the payment shall not be ACCEPTED.

The payments to the State social insurance, default interest, penalties, and penalties imposed for infringements of the administrative law shall be accepted to SSI fund account No. LT027180300000690001 with Artea Bank.

The following information MUST be specified in the Payment order:

Payer's name, surname or legal entity;s name;
Payer's personal code or legal entity's code or policyholder's code;
payment code;
amount of payment in numbers;
Beneficiary's name: State Social Insurance Fund Board under the Ministry of Social Security and Labour;
Beneficiary's code: 191630223;

Using internet bank and it they are settled for the other natural and legal entity, it is NECESSARY to fill the explicit SEPA payment order form specifying an identification number, name or name and surname of the initial payer's, on whose behalf the payment order shall be performed.

Note. If a payment order is not filled in full, is filled incorrectly, the payment order code is not specified or it is not included into the list of Sodra payment codes, such payment order shall not be ACCEPTED.
