What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in the browser on your device (e.g., computer, mobile phone, tablet) when you browse our Digital Platforms. When you visit our Digital Platforms and/or their sub-sections (sub-domains), information may be stored or retrieved in the browser you are using via the relevant cookies. This information may relate to you, your preferences or your device, with the aim of ensuring that our Digital Platforms provide you with the best possible browsing experience, as well as personalised information about the services we offer. Our Digital Platforms use essential cookies, which are necessary to ensure that the Digital Platforms function properly, and are automatically installed on your device the first time you visit our Digital Platforms. Analytics, advertising and functional cookies help our Digital Platforms to collect and analyse traffic statistics, maintain or improve the functionality of the Digital Platforms, enhance security, etc. This information does not usually identify you directly, but it may be used to provide more personalised features on the Digital Platforms.

Why do we use cookies?

We use cookies on our Digital Platforms to:

  • ensure that our Digital Platforms function as they should;
  • improve the speed and security of our Digital Platforms;
  • continuously improve our Digital Platforms to make them even more appealing to you;
  • carry out more effective marketing.

Cookies groups

To improve the functionality of the Digital Platforms, ensure their smooth operation, and provide a convenient and secure user experience, as well as to deliver personalised offers and advertising, the Bank uses the following types of cookies.

These cookies are necessary for the Digital Platforms to function, and they cannot be disabled on our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions you take that amount to requests for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block these cookies or to notify you about them, but in that case, some parts of the Digital Platforms may not work. These cookies are essential for the Digital Platforms to function. Personal data associated with these cookies is processed in order to ensure the security, functionality and provision of services on Digital Platforms. As these cookies are essential for the Digital Platforms to function, your separate consent is not required for their use. Strictly necessary cookies cookies are collected on the basis of legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation).

These cookies enable us to track visits to our Digital Platforms and identify the sources of traffic, allowing us to evaluate and improve the performance, functionality and user experience of our Digital Platforms. They help to identify which pages on the Digital Platforms are the most popular, which are visited the least, and to understand how visitors navigate the Digital Platforms.

To ensure a consistent user experience and to assess the use of our services more accurately, we may use technologies on certain Digital Platforms that enable us to link your browsing session across the Digital Platforms of different Artea companies. This makes it possible to recognise when the same user moves between different Artea company domains, and to analyse the user’s overall journey, platform usage and the effectiveness of the services.

Unique technical identifiers are used for this purpose. Data that directly identifies you, such as your first name, surname, personal identification number or contact details, is not transferred between platforms via these analytics cookies. All information collected via these cookies is generally aggregated and used for statistical purposes.

Using Google’s features, we have enabled IP address anonymisation; therefore, in the Member States of the European Union and other countries within the European Economic Area, your IP address is truncated before further processing takes place. The full IP address may only be transmitted to Google’s servers in exceptional cases and will be processed in accordance with Google’s data protection measures.

Analytical cookies, including those used to link browsing data across the Digital Platforms of affiliated Artea companies, are used only with your consent. This personal data is processed on the basis of your consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation. You can change your preferences at any time in the cookie settings.

These cookies are set by advertising partners on the Digital Platforms. These companies may use them to create a profile of your interests and to show you relevant advertisements on other websites. They work by uniquely identifying your browser and device.  The linking of browsing data across the Digital Platforms of affiliated Artea companies may be used to understand how users interact with different platforms and to ensure a more consistent personalisation of advertising and the user experience. Advertising cookies, including those used to link browsing data across the Digital Platforms of affiliated Artea companies, are used only with your consent. Personal data is processed for this purpose on the basis of your consent, in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation. You can change your preferences at any time in the cookie settings.

Functional cookies enable the Digital Platform to remember your preferences and provide enhanced features that are better tailored to your needs. Functional cookies also remember the settings and choices you have made, such as certain personalisations of the Digital Platforms, and are used in other situations, such as when playing videos or saving other user preferences. Functional cookies do not track your activity on other websites. If you do not allow these cookies, some or all features may not work properly.

Functional cookies are only used with your consent. Personal data is processed for this purpose on the basis of your consent, in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. You can change your preferences at any time in the cookie settings.

What cookies do Artea companies use, and for what purposes?

Cookies are categorised as first-party or third-party:

  • First-party cookies: these are our own cookies used on our Digital Platforms that you visit;
  • Third-party cookies: these cookies are provided by third parties (e.g., Google, Facebook, etc.).

You can find out more about first-party and third-party cookies in the tables below - here you will find not only a general description of specific cookies but also the purpose and storage periods for each cookie.

Further information on data transfers

We work with companies that provide technical solutions, tools and services which enable us to analyse website traffic and user behaviour, and to improve the quality of the services we provide.

Where data collected through the use of cookies is transferred outside the European Economic Area, such transfers are carried out in accordance with the applicable data protection requirements and with appropriate safeguards in place.
